This movie would have been a good movie, IF one hadn't already seen "Crouching Tiger.." "House of Flying Daggers.." "Hero," etc.
You will be all right as long as you don't go to "The Banquet" with high expectations of the other movies.
This movie is meticulously produced, gorgeously shot, and of course Zhang Ziyi and other characters look simply beautiful.
Unfortunately, this movie redefines "glacier-pace," and the script really does not offer enough character development or an involving storyline/dialogue. Still, if you are a fan of these types of movies, it's worth seeing once...
