Enjoy being totally creeped out? Watch "Funny Games" by Michael Haneke,

also known for his recent and excellent "Caché." The very strange "The Piano Player," starring the most erotic Isabel Huppert, also is his.
The film begins with a middle-aged couple and their young son driving through beautiful German countryside and playing a game wherein not only must one guess the opera singer... but also the piece being sung.
Soon, they arrive at their vacation home on a splendid mountain lake: the man takes great care in "wetting" his beautiful wooden, classic sailboat.
As he and his son rig the boat, his wife begins settle in the kitchen supplies when she is disturbed by a visiting neighbor whom they had earlier greeted. Very soon, he is joined by another young man and a disagreement between them and the woman seems randomly to escalate to violence.
Forget all the Hollywood gore and slasher fests: this will scare you out of your wits with nary an onscreen hangnail removal.
The actors are all high-caliber, the writing and editing are first rate, and the ending toys with the viewer much as the young men did the family.
Highly recommended.
