Thisblack and white romantic comedy garnered a number of Oscar nominations and won five, including one for Audrey Hepburn in her first major role (after a number of minor TV and film outings). She plays a royal princess on a good will European tour who escapes into the Rome streets one night until a sedative she was foreced to take cuts in. Newsman Gregory Peck finds her and after failing to wake her takes her back to his room where she sleeps it off. He heads off for an interview with the prncess, unaware that she is sleeping in his bed. A romance ensues, with delightful results. Paramount had taken great pains to restore the film and the picture ansd audio quality are very good on the DVD. A great one.
