Most people know there's a big difference between a movie that's primarily about women and their relationships

and a "chick flick"

Of course, to appreciate the former, especially in a film like Volver, one should also appreciate and even perhaps, to the extent that it's possible - understand (or at least want to understand) women... and people in general.

Something else a film like Volver requires is a bit of patience... it unfolds gradually and should be savored. Not gonna fly for the watch 15 minutes a of a movie and then post about it crowd.
