Movies from comedy to drama to your favorite Hollyweird Star.

They are two of my favorites including....

"The Island of Lost Souls".

"Mutiny On The Bounty": Laughton vividly portrays the tyrannical Captain
Bligh in this epic adventure. Remade in 1962 which falls pitifully short
of the 1935 classic. Howard not convincing as Bligh; Brando miscast -
as director Lewis Milestone aptly quipped, "This picture should have been
called, "The Mutiny of Marlon Brando".

"The Hunchback of Notre Dame": Arguably Laughton's greatest role in this
best adaptation of the Hugo novel; no Oscars as this magnificent film was
overshadowed by "Gone With The Wind"; "Wuthering Heights", "The Wizard of
Oz" and others that year. Inferior remake in 1957 with Tony Quinn as
Quasimodo doing a passable job.

"Island of Lost Souls": Laughton is campily devilish in his role as Dr.
Moreau, the mad scientist, in this 1933 film classic. 'What Is The Law?'.
Inferior remake in 1977 with Burt Lancaster as the Doc. Remade again (why?) in 1997 with Brando hammily playing Moreau; great make-up effects
and panther girl only outstanding features of this atrocity.
