I posted on this one several weeks ago. I'm not sure Billy was evil at all--he looked like an interesting character as well, tho the audience might not have been as sympathetic were he the hero of the movie, and Steve was a nerdy bad guy.
The main problem with this movie is it ran 20 minutes too long, and needed tighter/better editing.
