"Prisoner of the Mountains," by Sergei Bodrov:

an interesting look at the war between the Russians and the Chechen rebels told through the eyes of two Russian soldiers captured while on patrol and held as hostages in a tiny, remote Chechen village. While being watched and kept by the father of the rebel for whom they will be exchanged a friendship develops between the two very different captives and also between the younger captive and the daughter of his keeper.
Highly recommended for its humanity, the beauty and honesty of the young girl, and the insight into a mysterious culture.
Bodrov isn't a skilled director but the story, acting, and setting elevate his effort.
The story is loosely based on a short story by Tolstoy, "The Prisoner of the Caucasus."
