2. Now, Voyager (1942) Bette Davis and Paul Henreid fall in love just in time for Ms. Davis to contract incurable disease. It's no wonder given the fact they don't stop smoking for more than five minutes during the whole film. Sniff...
3. Imitation of Life (1959) Lana Turner as a career actress and professional victim. Why not just stick your head in the oven in the first act and get it over with!
4. Love Story (1970) Erich Siegel's ode to true love and the obligatory terminal illness. What a novel idea!
5. Beaches (1988) The Devine Ms. M and Babs Hersey sob their way through a thirty year relationship with plenty of real-life singing between tears. Love ya Bette but this movie is only for the PMS generation...
