Re: I hold some hope out for the EAD new DVD player but all

Just to add that even the entry level Pioneer DV333 is far better than any VHS player. After owning an LD and top flight VHS models players and now a DVD machine...I see no valid argument for artifact problems...although some discs themselves have some of these that were not evident on LD. For examle the English Patient on LD is much better than the DVD print...and I'm not convinced by those that say that Jaws is better on DVD. The DVD of of Jaws has a darker tint...that however does not make it better, indeed on some sequences it seems washed out.

However, the new Terminator 2 edition is as good, if not better, on the $300.00 DVD33 player than the top of the line Pioneer Elite LD player of just 2 years ago...the model # escapes me.

The artifacts, fuzz, and lack of widescreen should hopefully very soon eliminated those clunky VHS tapes.
