What's up with the current French auteurs? The Tournees Festival featured one ridiculously bloody and trite film, "Frontier," (I guess the artistic part was having a band of neo-Nazis torturing Parisian Arabs), and a grossly pornographic gay film, "Before I Forget."
One long sex scene between the 70-ish protagonist and a young man, followed by the older man defecating himself in his car (inadvertently, one supposes), and then a different two characters, one an older doctor and another middle-aged man, discussing a health issue, and then a moment later, the doctor is being fellated. At that point (I should get a bonus for staying after scene 1) I and half the audience filed out. There was much laughter in the foyer as we imagined what wonders lay ahead......
