Home Films/DVD Asylum

Movies from comedy to drama to your favorite Hollyweird Star.

The story behind the film is more interesting than the film itself....

Many years ago I read a long article about the making of this film. It was about as good a study of inflated egos and international misunderstandings as I've ever read.

Personally I like "ZP." I don't think it's a masterpiece BUT it is a milestone film in the history of late 60s cinema, if only for the lessons it presents on how not to go about making a movie. I've seen it twice - once when it was first released and again, some years later, in a college film arts class. My classmates were about evenly divided between those who thought it trash and those who liked it. I don't think any there thought it a masterpiece.

I won't buy it but will likely rent it to watch on a stormy night.
