Anyone caught this one yet? It's a nice piece of film-making, about a U.S. forces bomb disposal squad in Iraq.

Acc to Rotten Tomatoes: "A well-acted, intensely shot, action filled war epic, Kathryn Bigelow's The Hurt Locker is thus far the best of the recent dramatizations of the Iraq War."

The "tomato meter" rating is an almost unheard of 97% (93 fresh; 3 rotten). Of course, YMMV. Caveat emptor. I think it is one of the better movies I have seen this year (along w/ Sin Nombre [I liked Gomorrah as well, but you talk about dark!).

There is some over-the-top stuff, but what do you expect with a group of guys who cheat death daily? Very intense and interesting.

I especially liked the snipper sequence. It's not simply "one and you're done" (i.e., snipper don't always hit their target the first shot).
