This film shows the last remaining days of the Israeli possession in 1982-- won at great cost in a frontal attack--- immediately before it withdrew inside Israel.
A squad of 12 young soldiers, isolated by the clandestine placement of an IED on the lone supply road, anxiously await the bomb-squad--- but are crestfallen when he appears unable to help. Over the ensuing last days, the enemy begin using a much more powerful, heretofore unused weapon, and the carnage drives the young lieutenant in charge to the limits of endurance.
This is a very fine film which, though it doesn't exactly innovate in the genre, is elevated by the performances and the subtlety of the dialogue.
