"Age of Innocence" is, of course, his greatest film. No need for cheap

thrills, gore, and blood. A brilliant adaptation, superb acting, and a careful dissection of mores of that period.
Brilliantly good filmmaking that, unfortunately, is a rarity in a country obsessed with violence.
