After serving 12 years for a killing, a man is released and immediately pressed into revenge against the stoolie that sent him up by his former criminal boss--- he feels that leaving the man to walk around disrespects his gang.
Stellan Skaarsgard is Oscar-worthy in his portrayal as the laconic, seemingly easy-going, and responsible criminal that wants nothing more than to reenter his family, go to work, and be left alone.
This is a good film with many interesting characters: almost unheard of today for a director to bother to develop secondary characters, but this one is loaded with memorable ones and the scenes to allow them to shine.
A must see, especially for those that enjoy the laid back Norwegian sense of humor.
