is the film of Dido Belle the daughter of a titled sea captain who leaves her to the care of noble kin. The story explores her experiences growing up and facing the ever present racial rejection despite her place and inherited wealth. Her adopted family grows to love and protect her as she faces the 18th Century challenge of finding a suitable husband with proper place.

The cast is top flight and the cinematography and art direction is completely out of the ball park. This is a typical "art over all" Brit film and is worth seeing just to enjoy its superlative production values. Everyone does a smash bang job despite the predictability of the story. Certainly worth seeing.
