Remember "Dark Knight Rises'" Bane? The same actor, Tom Hardy, gives a bravura performance in "Locke"

that is almost incredulously different from that character--- you can't perceive a scintilla of Bane in Locke.
For an hour and a half, the eponymous character commands your attention from the confines of his car--- from which he never leaves and into which no one enters. All the "action" centers on phone calls that threaten his very existence and that hold the future of another hostage.
Yeah, it sounds like something best left to a play, but the truly amazing performance makes this work on the big screen.
Not only a master's class in acting, this film is cleverly enough written to hold your attention, throughout.
