Certainly no one who ever saw the original will ever forget Caan being treated to witness a deadbeat-drubbing. Quite chilling indeed.

Another film on gambling addiction worth watching is "Owning Mahowney" with Philip Seymour Hoffman's usual perfect acting. It's a true story. The book on which it's based, "Stung" by Gary Ross, is among the best-written non-fiction works I have ever read.
