It had a lot of good character development, especially so for a horror movie.
The frightening scenes were decently scary, (not the scariest I've seen, but in character with the movie).
Both my 16 y.o. daughter and myself liked it quite a bit.
(As did most people and most reviewers who saw it.
77% of critics and 87% of the audience liked it.
FYI: the reviewer for Upcominghorrormovies.com (UHM) gave it 8 out of 10 stars. (And it got an average of 7.8 stars from other fans of that site.)
The last few good horror movies that Billy Wonka has reviewed he has not liked, despite the fact that both the audiences and even the critics liked them.
Sorry Billy, but I no longer look to you for reviews of horror movies.
