RE: Interesting that you brought up "Bozo".

I definitely remember channel 2 KTVU in the early 1960's as I in lived the bay area then. San Francisco was once a dangerous, rollicking city with a carnival-like atmosphere and so was also a great place for clownish and eccentric personalities.

I remember accidentally wandering onto Polk street during the 1976 bicentennial festivities. Gay clowns galore. Most were dressed up in fake military uniforms, but others called themselves "roller queens" and wore hotpants and roller skates. It seems that everyone wanted to act crazy back then. The high tech boom gradually destroyed all or most of that campy carnival atmosphere, so I'm told.

Too bad, no more free train sets for you!
