'Game Night': Laughs and Groans . . .

This one just doesn't get past the Red Zone. It tries but the humor and direction are uneven and foils Pithmeister Bateman by limiting his zingeresque dialog.

Yes, there are funny moments, you will laugh, but there are drags and there is the oddity of Jesse Plemons' character that dominates the scenary with an overbearing creepiness that runs counter to the lighter comedy.

We have Bateman for the verbal, Chandler for the action, McAdams for relief, and Plemons for weirdness. The other assorted characters provide laughs. There's a lot going on in this one, perhaps too much going on.

Rush to the remote control to see this one.

3 wonks and 2 wanks. It could have been better.
