It was very easy to fall in love with her voice right away. Not every operatic voice has that quality - some continue being if not irritating, then at least not too attractive after years. For instance, I continue being put off by Netrebko's one. I feel there is certain hardness in it. Callas's voice had rare deep fluidity to it.Lot of people say it was not truly perfect, and it declined early... all that is perhaps true, but her magnetic power was undeniable.
