This movie fluctuated between good and bad and whatever "Bushwick" was trying to say, I'm not totally certain. Maybe someone here can pipe in, but I'm not insisting you all rent it.

"Bushwick" could have been about the current state of race/politics in America? But to say it was "Red State Evil - Blue State Good" might be an oversimplification. I think Bushwick was about an underestimated unsuccessful invasion, and in this case it mirrored the unsuccessful American invasion of Iraq and exemplified how any foreign entity faces enormous, even futile challenges when attempting to occupy a foreign state.

Despite the terrible, almost angry reviews I read about "Bushwick" -I liked it. Sure, there were some uneven performances, a lack of geographical accuracy (I live in Brooklyn) and terrible CGI, but quite a few of the performances were surprisingly good.

The captured soldier explaining the philosophy behind the invasion was totally believable- and it could have been laughable. I also found "Stupe" telling his backstory in the laundromat a captivating, uncut excellent performance.

Bushwick was an uneven outing, but overall I was impressed and entertained. But it's no masterpiece movie lovers!

Have a great day- Jim
