It's quite true that 6dB from dual sources requires the units to be less than 1/4 wavelength apart to reduce interference loss, which by definition emphisises bass.(e.g.: I XO my subs @ 45Hz which means they have to be less than 4'6" apart)
But, he's talking peeks @ 17dB (not 6dB) above a single sub w/ 7 units.
