...Toshiba's SD-3750!
Picture is cleaner, brighter, and better black level than my old Sony piece of CRAP DVP-S360 (said Sony died, as did thousands out there!).
The sound seems tighter and more focus and depth (even with digital out to DTS and DD- less jitter? Hmmm...).
It has a progressive output (not able to use yet, but that 16x9 set is just around the corner)
It plays CD-Rs and CD-RWs!

It cost about half the price of the Sony when it first came out!
Just an FYI for those of you that contributed advice- THANKS GUYS (AND GIRLS!)
