Sony KV-32XBR450 Television questions

Hi. I have just bought a Sony KV-32XBR450 Television and I have a couple of questions for those who might know:
16:9 Enhanced mode.
I have set it to automatic, to detect when 16:9 signal is received. I have my DVD player (CAL CL-20) Set to the 16:9 aspect ratio as per the Sony instructions.
It never works automatically, I always have to turn this feature on manually.
Any idea why?
DRC mode:
Apparently this is the built in line doubler, upsampler, whatever. There are 3 modes, Interlaced, Progressive, and CineMotion. I can't see any difference at all between these 3 settings. Why?
VM, Velocity Modulation:
Should this be set to High, Medium, Low, or off when calibrating my TV with the Avia test DVD?
