First, vulcanman, it sounds like you're saying HDCD sounds better than SACD. Is this a correct assumption on my part?
Next, let me reiterate my original question: My primary question was whether or not there is a $200 player out there that does DVD better than the Sony NS500V (again, I'm using a 2 channel setup)?
Finally, it's not that I don't hear a difference between SACD and CD. Some of what I've heard on SACD sounds great; Definitely better than CD sound. Unfortunately, some of it sounds pretty bad. Overall, the improvement is not so dramatic in my system (Audio Analog Puccini integrated driving Reference 3A MM De Capos--far from Radio Shack quality stuff) that I can easily envision spending tons of money on an SACD library, especially when so many of the currently available titles do not interest me.
