Auditioned Arcam DV-88, so long $1600.

Dealer (Music Lovers in Berkeley)loaned me an Arcam DV-88 DVD player (without the progressive scan option)because I was curious if the sound and picture would be THAT much better than with my cheap Pioneer. Next day I was happily writing a check. With the DV-88 I saw more detail, more intense colors, and a sort of 3-D quality to the picture that was riveting. Sound quality was much better, too; I heard for the first time small surround-sound details in almost every film. Highly recommended.
