The choice depends on whether you are more bothered by cable noise or digital artifacts. It also depends on the quality of your service. Digital artifacts really annoy me, so I have cable. It is very good quality, but I am actually considering ditching it in favor of over the air broadcasts. I am annoyed by the relatively high cost of cable, and I only watch a tiny fraction of the channels, so why bother? I have plenty of worthwhile material to watch on DVD and laserdisc.
