I have a Marantz SR-5200 with DPL2. I have five speakers and no sub. I repeated your experiment but, in my case, I left the center channel on. DVD/CD player is hooked up via an optical cable. When I selected DPL2 music or movies and played my stereophile test CD 2, the left channel comes out the left speaker, the right channel comes out the right speaker, in phase information came out center channel and out of phase information came out the rear speakers. In other words, it worked perfectly. I doubt this is an anomoly in DPL2, there is something wrong with the installation or with the Onkyo.Peace, Tim
