is this a worthwhile venture ?

12.236.219.131

while dropping-off a 13"tv at the dump i managed to bring home the lower half of a sony kp-46v15 rear projection tv.

there is nothing of the mirror or upper part of the cabinet nor screen.

all the functions work and i have the lenses focused at max length and the whole thing tipped to project on the ceiling of the garage.

i already angled the outside guns to a point that i could use the convergence feature.

looks kinda funky projected onto stucco and even if i get the convergence good in the settings when i go to source the rgb are still quite separated.

hmmmm......does this mean that the focal length is somewhere inbetween the lens and ceiling and the separation of rgb i see at the ceiling would be greater even farther out ?

seeing as i have nothing into it wrt $$........... would it be worth the time and effort --for a hardcore tweaker :)-- to make a real projector from it ?

no component video but does have s-video.

i have a friend who is a hardcore astronomer that could help with the optics issues.

could i boost the lumens with superbright leds ?

thanks for any help.
