Latest EHG TDK tapes have a S-video punch in place

Finally convinced of the superiority of S-VHS tapes (yes I'm a bit of a block head sometimes), I've purchased some of the latest TDK XPs but am converting other EHGs by drilling the required hole.

I went to some trouble to make up a metal template to ensure accuracy and it worked fine on some 3 hour efforts . But lo & behold, when I went to convert the latest batch of EHG 4 hour tapes (purchased last week) I discovered there was a punched indent already in place.

Now I'm not sure this is progress as it proved more difficult to remove that small cut out than it was to remove drill shavings. The result is some small plastic bits floating inside some of the cassettes. As I don't fancy the messy job of unscrewing the case I'm prepared to take the risk of no drastic problems unless any inmate has a negative experience about this to report.
