Assuming that you will also need a 5.1 speakers for your HT set-up, here is a system that falls right at your $3K limit:Denon AVR 3802 @$999.00 list
Denon DVD 1600 @$549.00 list
Axiom Epic Grand Master Home Theater @$1510With some shopping the Denon equipment should be available for less than list.
