Help with Sony DVP-S530D

My Sony DVD/CD has developed the annoying habit of deciding to shut itself off whenever it feels so inclined. There does not seem to be any pattern to this, and it occurs with DVDs or CDs.
Of course, on the bench with the top off it will play flawlessly for hours and hours. Nothing seems to be getting hot, and short of pulling every PCB to inspect for bad solder, I am at a loss.
If anyone has run into this, I'd sure appreciate hearing from you!
