What rubbish. Geometry is an issue with many sets, especially flat screens - makes no difference if they're $500 analog (non-HD) sets or $2200 Sony XBR HD Wegas. It's hard to get good geometry on CRT direct views and the cool looking flat screens are particularly vulnerable to this.

Sounds like you're describing "pincushion". I don't know how user-friendly the Panansonic's menu is, but some sets do provide user adjustments to correct pincushion and other geometry issues. Your set *may* not, and it may be necessary to get into the service menu. It's probably not cost effective to have this TV professionally calibrated, but you could pick up the AVIA, Video Essentials or Sound & Vision HT DVDs, pop one into your player, and I guarantee your Tau will look much better when you're done tweaking.
