Best home theater i can get on a tight budget

I am pretty well decided on the Denon AVR-2802 because it offers alot of features for a little less than $500, but on the speaker front i am conflicted. I have a good friend who says that Cambridge soundworks are the best in their price range, but as i read reviews and such i see alot of mixed views. Are there any comparable/better 5.1 speaker systems that sound better than Cambridge soundworks for between $600-$1000?
