If you go to:
http://www.widescreen.org/aspect_ratios.shtml
you'll find that 16:9 (1.78:1) is not really
a common film format anyway, so EVEN a wide
screen TV will have letterboxing for most
films. Most epics are even greater than 2:1.
I don't know what the burn-in problems would
be on CRTs.
