3 ccd versus 1 ccd

I am planning to buy a DV camera but am unable to decide. There is a Sony 3 CCD camera TRV950 and a single ccd camera, the DCR-PC120E. I feel the 3 ccd camera should give better picture interms of colors, but am not sure of picture resolution. I understand that the TRV950 ccd is 1.05m pixel but the P120 ccd is 1.55m pixels. Does this mean that the picture quality from the PC120 is 'sharper' than the TRV950 for video or only for still picture only? I know the PC120 is smaller, thus more suitable for travelling.
