Re: Surround speaker opinions

There are people on the net who argue AGAINST bipole speakers for the rears. My understanding of the 5.1 standard is to have 5 speakers that are exactly the same plus a sub. If you set up the rears in the same way you set up the fronts, then you won't need a bipole speaker. There are exceptions, but they are rare.

So I would say get speakers that more closely match the fronts.
