Re: Yamaha vs sony

I auditioned both and went for the 2300. The new Yamaha has the ability of outputting any input video signal to component out, which makes for a much simplified amp-monitor hook up. The biggest draw-back to the 2300? You can't mix-and-match signal inputs. The only mix-and-match you can do is audio-video...you can't play a video source (playing audio) with another video source (playing video). The workaround is clumsy, involving more wires.... The 2300 sound is flawless, and the 8 channel stereo is worth the price of admission.
