Anyone using Panasonic DMR E-30?

I'm considering buying one of these to convert my rather large (400+) collection of VHS tapes to DVD. Mainly to save space. Picture quality is NOT a major issue since most of the tapes were recorded from TV. The main feature I like about this unit (besides price!) is "Flex Recording," meaning you are not restricted to factory set recording speeds. In other words, when recording a 2-hour, 5-minute program it will select the best quality for that time rather than automatically jumping to the next highest recording mode - 4 hours.

Any thoughts, opinions?

Thanks...
