Can you provide a few more details? What's your display device? Does the TV have a line doubler? Is this a progressive scan DVD player? Have you calibrated your TV with Video Essentials or Avia?

Jagged diagonal lines are a pretty common digital artifact with composite, s-video and component connections. I don't know anything about RGB hookups. It's possible that some of what you're seeing is a TV issue that is only now being exposed by a higher quality signal -- the VE / Avia disks may help isolate the problem if that's the case.
