Lips Move Out of Sync with Picture

Can you tell me why it seems that sometimes and at certain times the audio and video on my SONY DVD player don't sync? I noticed the same in the Mall of America's Bose showroom on Attack of the Clones (on a screen so good you could clearly see which was CG, if you didn't already know.)
