Re: Panisonic TH-42PWD5UY plasma users?

I just bought mine today. ( I won't get it for 5 to 10 days. ) I think there are a several possible solutions. These are a couple I thought of. 1. Get a switcher that allows you to conect several things to the same connection or 2. With the 5UY it appears that it has progressive scan built in. One reviewer said that it is difficult to tell if you are using a regular DVD and the units built n progressive scan or using a DVD player with progressive scan. That review also states that it also upscales vidio input from cable and satilite. At least for now I have no plan to buy a HDTV reciever. I want to see how well the upscaller works. I may decide not to get one. (I beleive there are only a few channels broadcasting HDTV at this time anyway.) But if I decide to go with a HD receiver then I wonder if I can connect my DVD to a diferent input, use the built in progressive scan with this and connect the HDTV receiver to the component video.

After I get mine I will try different options to see what might work.
I will post if I come up with something that works well.
