Re: NAD T761: Any Experience?

I purchased a T761 in July '01 then returned it August '02 when the left channel became intermittent. NAD sent me a new unit within a week and half. I just returned it today. For the last week I've been experiencing choppy audio when playing DVD's. The video signal is fine and audio CDs play fine.

I've spoken with a couple of dealers and service centers and all have suspected the receiver and not the DVD player. But just to be sure, I tested my DVP S7700 (Sony's reference model from a couple of yrs ago) on another receiver and noticed no problems. I've never experienced any problems with that unit, so the roads are leading back to the receiver. My T761 is being checked out right now so I should hear back in a week.

When it was working, it sounded great. I have a set of Paradigm speakers and am using a Prism D2 digital interconnect. The T761 is more than adequate for my moderately sized room.

After returning this unit, I'm highly suspicous. I searched the 'net and found a couple of posts from users with similar issues. I can't say with certainty that it is a lemon but I would definitely be wary. I'm exploring options to hopefully avoid getting another T761.
