Any good "warm sounding" preamp/processors under $2000?

66.138.141.63

There are quite a few good processors out there now, but I was wondering if there were any under $2000 that are warm sounding and tube-like, as I've heard the sunfire processors described. I would like to buy the sunfire TG3, but it is around $3500 new, and even used on Audiogon it runs around $2600 or higher. It would be nice to be able to find a warm sounding, advanced processor with a retail under $2000, because then I could probably find it used for much cheaper. The reason I want a warm sounding processor is that I really don't always like a cold, analytical sound, especially on the types of music I listen to. Requirements on the processor would be 7.1 processing, DTS-ES, Dolby PL2, Dobly Digital THX-EX, 7.1 ch input, tone controls, and maybe THX Ultra, although that is not a requirement. I don't have the money to buy the processor now, because I am a college student and I need to save the money, but I would like to know if there are other brands of processors with a warm sound. Thanks for any help
