Any particular reason why your considering a projector? At that size of 42" you might want to consider a plasma (or lcd). Since you mentioned it will be used primarly for dvd and cable the consensus of the people at avsforum is the the Panasonic ED plasma models seem to be the best bang for the buck for such applications.
