I have Cox San Diego with the Scientific Atlanta 3100HD box-via the dig coax, I get some programs in true 5.1 (mainly movies on Encore, Flix, etc), a lot of programs in 2.0 stereo and quite a few channels with no audio at all (although there is stereo available via the analog L/R outputs). All the HDTV channels output 5.1, although they often utilize only the L/R front."A little government and a little luck are necessary in life, but only a fool trusts either of them".
