Anyone own both the DVD963SA and the DVDR985 from Philips ?

I own both ... and I find the DVDR985 to have a superior picture to the newer generation 963 (both use the Faroudja chipsets ... 2200 on the 985 and 2300 on the 963). The 963 is also a 108Mhz / 12-bit player.
Does anyone else share this observation ?
