#1: Not so far past six grand that it starts to look like seven.

#2: 32" Sony Trinitron, Heavy bugger, too.

#3: Easy. They're pretty dumb, and I suspect the matching polo shirts make them dumber, so I just held something shiny off to one side to distract the poor guy and made for the door.

# Everything else: If you want some scary "life with kids" stories, try owning a turntable! I want an "integrated" display (tuner and speakers) because, not only is it easier for the kids and elderly grandparents (not to mention easier on the "good" loudspeakers, per your story), but because I feel it's a bit foolish tp boot-up a mega-watt surround amp to watch the news...or even the History Channel.
